Phuket, Thailand

Long weekend in Thailand??  Yes please!!!

On Thursday, February 10th, Johnnie and I flew to Phuket for a relaxing beach vacation!

We only had 2 full days to spend on the island so we chose the JW Marriott - Phuket due to it's close proximity to the airport and because of it's overall awesomeness!  :)

When we arrived at the resort Thursday night, Johnnie and I were greeted with friendly smiles (Thailand is known as the "Land of Smiles") and "Sawadee Ka"s (friendly greeting in Thai).  Although it was already dark when we got there, we were completely blown away with the beauty of the JW!

We were also given these sweet flower necklaces and welcome drinks (modeled by Johnnie as he pets our towel elephant).  :)

The room was beautiful!

Our very own Thai sala (a space meant for rest and reflection).  Gorgeous view of the garden and sea in the distance through the window...

Sunscreen?  Check!  Beach-bound?  Check!

"Hallway" view...not too shabby.  :)

Housekeeping "cart"...love it!

The lobby...

Reflecting pool off the lobby...Andaman Sea in the distance...

Another reflecting pond in the resort...

Breakfast view...

Our room was right behind Johnnie...

Pool time!!

Sunset fire lighting ceremony in the main reflecting pool.  This was really cool...

Phuket Rain...delish!

Dinner at Ginja Taste on Friday night.  Ginja was the Thai restaurant on the grounds.  Oh man, was it good!  It was so tasty that we came back the next night too!

Chillaxing at the main pool on Saturday...

Johnnie awake...

Johnnie not awake...

Blending into my surroundings...

Lobby bar with swing beds...

Watching the sunset at Out of the Blue Drink bar on the beach...

Then back to Ginja Taste for dinner!

Smiling, thinking about the phad thai he's about to eat!

Sunday came WAY too soon...we did not want to leave.  :(  But it was a lot easier knowing that we still had lots of fun to have back in Malaysia!!
