On Sunday, April 10th, we flew from Kuala Lumpur back to the beautiful island of Borneo. Here's a pic from the airplane, flying over Kuching...
We flew right over the MEMC plant!
The Pullman Hotel is the home away from home for all of the MEMC employees when they are in Kuching. Here's a shot of our room...
Hotel room view of the city...the river in the background.
Just love this view of Kuching. This picture was taken at happy hour in the hotel lounge.
Over the next few days, I had a great time exploring and seeing more of Kuching. Here's the cat museum (Kuching means "cat" in Malay)...
Some cool looking tower...I think it was a part of one of the city mosques, but don't quote me on that.
Pretty mountain landscape view...
Kuching government building...
Election campaigns were in full force during our stay in Kuching. Here is some of the campaign flair...
On our last night in Kuching, we all went out to dinner at Top Spot - a popular outdoor food stall market in town. We settled on stall #25 - the Bukit Seafood Center.
This place was so cool - you get to hand pick the fresh seafood, meats, and veggies that you want in your dish. Just throw it on a plate, pick a sauce or spice, and whala - they cook it up for you!
Here's Chris making his selections...
What's so funny, Eddie?!?
Maybe it was this?? Hmmm...no clue...but it definitely did NOT make it into any of our dishes.
Johnnie taking his work seriously...
The Calvin family...
Family style fare...soooo delicious!
It was a little difficult leaving Kuching this time, not knowing when (or if) I would ever be back. I sure hope I do...maybe I'll just have to hide in Johnnie's suitcase on his next work trip. :)
Stay tuned for pictures from our girls' trip to Damai Beach while we were in Kuching!
