"Everybody's workin' for the weekend!!" Well, I may not have been, but Johnnie was. :) And when the weekend of April 8th rolled around, we boarded a plane headed for Kuala Lumpur (KL), Malaysia. We were looking forward to a few days of sight seeing, delicious dining, and hanging with our friends Chris and Amanda (Chris works on the project in Kuching - Amanda is his lovely fiance).
Our hotel...
Friday night, we went to dinner with Chris, Amanda, and our local tour guide Lawrence. Lawrence is originally from Singapore, and now lives in KL, but flies to Kuching every week to work on the MEMC project. He took us to a great restaurant and then we went to a few bars in what he said was the "cool" part of town, where most of the expats live.
Happy to be in KL...
Bruno, Christina (Lawrence's friends), Lawrence, & Chris...
Sooo...we all had a little too much fun on Friday night. As you will notice below, the next set of pictures are from Saturday NIGHT. Yeah, we didn't do any of the sightseeing we planned on. Sitting by the hotel pool that afternoon was about all we could handle.
Dinner and (surprisingly) more drinks at La Bodega...
Sunday came way too fast, but we were not about to leave KL without seeing the city's most famous landmark - the Petronas Towers.
So, we hopped in a cab at the hotel, had the cabbie drive us to the very best spot for taking pictures of the towers, then wait for us for no more than 3.2 minutes as we snapped these shots...
Our trip to Kuala Lumpur was by no means productive, but no one can say we didn't have fun!!
