Yeehaw Y'all!! Johnnie and I flew down to Houston the weekend of March 11th (I know that was almost a month ago...I'm waaay behind on posting).
It was great to get out of the cold Missouri weather and especially great to get out of the Marriott Towne Suites (our most recent "home" in Missouri)! Our trip to Texas was made even sweeter by the fact that Dad got us all tickets to go to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to see Gary Allen perform!
The llamas completely stole my heart...wonder if you can have them for pets in St. Louis city limits...
The llama costume contest...animal cruelty at its best...
Livestock auction...
Gary Allen concert...we were all pleasantly surprised...I didn't realize I knew so many of his songs. Excellent show!
On Sunday, we packed a cooler with beer and drove a couple blocks to watch the annual 1960 St. Patrick's Day parade.
Our Budweiser friends from St. Louis were there!!
My favorite float...
Roller derby chicks...
To be completely honest, I wasn't overly excited when Mom and Dad said we were going to the parade. That was until I caught my first pair of beads...it was ON then! :)
Johnnie wasn't overly interested in the parade either, until this float came along. Wonder why???
Typical Spring, Texas these days...real "classy." ;)
After the parade, we had a crawfish boil back at the house! Johnnie was Dad's sous chef...
Yummmm...
Johnnie had to fly back to St. Louis on Monday for work, but I had plans to stay in Houston for another two weeks. This meant lots of quality time with the parentals and with the girls!!!
Sarah Petrie, Amy, and me at the rodeo the following weekend...we had such a great time!
Best friends since 1st grade. :)
Brad Paisley performed this night. Another great concert at the rodeo!
Like I said, I had many fun dinners and nights out with the girls while I was in Houston. Here are some pics from a dinner with Christy, Sarah Pesek, and special guest...Bailey the parrot (Christy's parents' bird). We ate at Berry Hill on Westheimer, which is clearly VERY pet friendly. :)
Bailey loves chips and queso...
But not nearly as much as she loves margaritas...my kinda gal!
Some Bailey love... :)
Speaking of love...I sure do love time spent in the great state of Texas!!!
