Cincinnati, Ohio

The first weekend of April found me in Cincinnati (Johnnie, meanwhile, had been in South East Asia for a little over a week - but no fun pictures from the job site).

Although I missed the hubs, I was so happy to be in Cinci celebrating the upcoming wedding of one of my best friends, Kreena, by co-hosting a bridal luncheon for her at Gwen's house!

My friends Gwen, Sarah, and I had been busy for weeks putting together the final touches of the shower.  It was a small gathering, which almost made it better because it allowed us to pay attention to the smallest details!

Here's a peek at the table scape...some of my favorite parts: the individualized (and hand-stitched) menus for each guest, matching fabric napkin rings, themed fabric bunting swizzle sticks!!  Oh wait...this isn't my craft blog...it's a travel blog.  I forgot there for a sec. ;)

Beautiful floral arrangements that Sarah put together!

Handmade bunting sewn by Gwen!!!

Matching colored drinks...these are the details I was referring to.  :)

Lemon and raspberry layer cake...delish!

The bride...ready for baking!!!

When you are a guest at the Payne residence, there is no shortage of baby cuteness!  Gwen and Johnny's son Jack is getting so big, so fast.

Gwen and I took Jack to buy his first pair of shoes!!

Whoa!!  Extra wide baby feet = limited baby shoe selection.  :)

On my last day/night in Cinci, I was fortunate enough to get an invite to my very first ever Poo Poo Party!!!

Johnny Payne's sister (Heather) and brother-in-law (Greg) just moved back to Cincinnati.  They have 2 adorable kids...and one on the way very, very soon!

Luke, Heather and Greg's youngest, had recently celebrated being a master of going No. 2 on the "big potty."  Yeah, I'm really writing about this.  :)

Apparently, Luke's parents promised him a Poo Poo Party when he demonstrated that he was a "big boy."  Well, there were 6 guests scheduled to come over for dinner that night, so Mom and Pops picked up a cookie cake and called it a Par-tay!!

Here's Luke getting ready to blow out his #2 candle!  After tasting his first bite, the guest of honor exclaimed (no joke), "I love poo poo cake!!!"

We took TONS of pictures this afternoon.  Here are just a few.  The girls...Eleanor, Heather, Me, Ava, and Gwen.

Me, Gwen, Luke, and Baby Jack in the background...

Love this pic of Ava and Luke!

Auntie Gwen with her nephew, niece, and sweet baby boy Jack.

Such a great visit!  Not that I'd expect anything less from the Queen City.
