My friend, Dalia, is getting married this October. When she said she wanted to go to Miami for her bachelorette party, I was on Orbitz.com faster than you can say South Beach! I have been friends with Dalia since Kindergarten...she, her sister, and I actually shared a school bus seat for a couple years in elementary. Let's hear it for Ms. Mills and bus 329!! haha:) I treasure the friendship that we have had all these years and it meant so much to me to be a part of her fun bachelorette weekend in MIAMI!!!
On our way from Fort Lauderdale airport to our hotel...
We called the Sagamore Hotel home for the weekend. The "Saggy" as we referred to it is officially known as The Art Hotel and was located within Miami's Art Deco Historic District. The art was all fine and dandy, but we were just happy to be right in the heart of South Beach and within walking distance to the white sand and bright blue ocean!!
Here are some pics of the Saggy and the Saggy's backyard (BEACH!!!)...
Hard to tell from the picture, but this is an overhead shot of the Sagamore pool, completely covered in bare-bottomed ladies on neon pink pool floats...
The bachelorette ladies soaking up the sun at the Saggy pool (not bare-bottomed). :)
With the bride before going out one night...
One reason our group was so awesome - look at all them Longhorn grads!!!
On Friday night, we went to dinner at Taverna Opa. FYI for anyone in charge of planning a bachelorette party - check your city for one of these restaurants. I'm not even going to attempt describing how crazy fun Taverna Opa was. From the moment the waiter brought the flaming champagne bottle to the table, we all knew we were in for a treat!
There was a belly dancer...
Dancing on the tables was pretty much mandatory...
You really can't completely capture the craziness of this place on film. You seriously leave dinner feeling like you've just attended one of the best parties of your life. This picture featuring Dal's bridesmaid Nisha is maybe the best representation of the fun...
Most of the group left on Sunday, but Emily and I were smart and stayed an extra night. :) We took the concierge's recommendation and went to dinner at D. Rodriguez Cuba. The food was amazing and of course, the company was fantastic...
I ordered the oxtail special (which was reportedly the favorite dish of the waiters). Check out the presentation of the dish. Yep...he's opening a can table side.
I swear this was a fine dining establishment...
It's been a couple weeks since we left Miami and I still miss it. :) Listen up all future brides: pretty pretty please have your bachelorette parties in Miami! I promise I will come and I promise it will be awesome!! :)
